The Osaka Amazing Pass looks like a no-brainer — "~40 attractions free!" — but like every tourist pass, it's a bet: it only pays off if your day is heavy on paid sights and subway hops. Mio doesn't guess — here's the break-even so you buy it only when the math says yes.

What you actually get

• Free entry to ~40 attractions — Osaka Castle, Umeda Sky Building observatory, Tombori River Cruise, Tsutenkaku, the Aqua Liner / Santa Maria cruises, and more, plus discounts at ~50 further spots.
• Unlimited Osaka Metro subway (and city buses) for the 1 or 2 days — handy between Umeda, Namba, Shinsaibashi and Tennoji.
• The 2-day pass must be two consecutive days; coverage of some private railways differs, so check the map for the spots you want.

The break-even, in one line

The trap is counting attractions you might see. Count only the paid ones you'll actually enter. Dotonbori's neon, street food, Shinsaibashi shopping and temple grounds are largely free — a day built around those doesn't need the pass.
